The Process

Showroom

Unlike other showrooms, K-Jay Kitchens has large display areas showcasing complete kitchen, laundry and vanity layouts finished with a range of products for your viewing pleasure. A variety of Caesarstone, Granite, Corian, Stainless Steel and various laminate bench tops are on display in our showrooms to help you choose the best bench for your new kitchen, laundry or vanity. As well as bench tops, a range of door styles including 2Pak, Thermo-Laminated and Timber can be viewed along with the colour range available in Melamine board. Also on display are the ever-growing range of kitchen accessories including handles, bins, lazy susans, LED down lights and orgaline cutlery trays.

Our kitchens are complimented with Blum drawers and hinges, allowing us to create a range of products from soft close Antaro drawers to the latest electronic Adventos and Servo drive systems. These products are covered by a manufacturers lifetime guarantee.

Materials

Materials are the most important factor for building a strong, long lasting foundation for your kitchen. With that in mind, we only use the highest quality materials and hardware throughout the manufacturing process. All of our cabinets are made using heat and moisture resistant board holding an EO/E1 emission rating. Our high quality materials are unlike cheap flat pack kitchen companies that use imported products that have high formaldehyde levels and do not comply with Australian standards.

Please visit the links on our Products page for more information on the materials we use.

Quote

After visiting our showroom or contacting us by phone or email, a time will be organised for your obligation free, in house design and quote. Our expert kitchen designer will discuss sizes, ideas and design concepts with you to ensure all of your preferred finishes and storage requirements are accommodated when creating your individual quote. As we are fully licensed we are able to co-ordinate all trade work (plumbing, electrical, plastering or building) and include in the quote to ensure a stress free and relaxed renovation.

Once your detailed quote has been completed and received, we highly recommend an appointment at our showroom where you can view your new kitchen design on a 3D computer layout with our friendly kitchen consultants. Here you will be able to see how your kitchen will look and if you would like to make any changes in design or colour schemes. We have a strict ‘no pressure sales’ motto and want to make this experience as stress free and seamless as possible, unlike many other manufacture companies.

Contract

Before work can be commenced a HIA Kitchen, Bathroom and Laundry Contract is drawn up outlining the terms and conditions of constructing and installing your kitchen. Once completed, a final measure will take place with our kitchen designer to confirm all measurements, finishes and appliances. Please check that whom you do decide to use for your kitchen renovations holds a HIA and BSA Licence to ensure a quality renovation.

Construction

All of our kitchens are custom made in our factory behind the showroom. From start to end, all of our products and materials are quality controlled by our fully qualified tradespeople. Using heat and moisture resistant board our cabinets are cut and made using only the latest technologies. Kitchens are assembled in shop with all handles, drawers and other products fitted before installing the kitchen to ensure the installation process in your home runs as smoothly as possible.

Installation

Our installation crew will arrive onsite after 7:15am along with other tradespeople and begin removing your old kitchen unless previously removed. The sink, taps, power points, ovens and other items will be disconnected and moved to the required location and the installation of your new kitchen will commence. Upon completion of the workday, the crew will clean all work areas and remove all rubbish. The removal and installation process is normally completed within 2 days.

However, as some bench tops, such as Stone, require a final measure after installing the cabinets, a further 4 — 5 working days must be allowed for completion. After installation of your chosen bench top, our tradespeople will return to connect your sink and appliances and install the splashback. A tiled splashback can be applied immediately after the bench top is installed however a final measure will be required should you choose glass splashback and a further 4 —5 working days must be allowed until installation and completion of your new kitchen.
